A well-placed source in Kabul said Wolesi Jirga candidate and head of the office Idrees Ghaljai, who is the son of Ghanikhel district chief Ghaleb Mujahid, was among the detainees. However, he was freed after two days.
Mujahid said one of his sons, a student, lived in Jurat’s office. He, however, explained at the time of the operation his son was not present at the office. He was in Kabul.
“An NDS official telephoned me and asked to hand over my son for investigations and I followed the order,” he said.
