KABUL (Pajhwok): The Criminal Justice Task Force (CJTF)’s anti-corruption court has jailed 24 people in 16 different drugs smuggling cases, a statement said on Wednesday.
These individuals had been arrested by security forces from different parts of the country, a statement from the CJTF said.
It said 51 kilograms of heroin, 75,020 kilograms of morphine, 659 kilograms of opium, 251 kilograms of hashish and 140 kilograms of shesha were recovered from the detainees.
After cases of these individuals landed in CJTF, the open court proceedings indicted and sentenced them from one year up to 30 years in prison.
Police and other security agencies have referred 41 persons, including three women, to the task force in connection with 25 drug trafficking cases.
