ABUL (Pajhwok): The Peace Consultative Board held its first meeting with President Ashraf Ghani in the chair at the Presidential Palace on Monday and discussed duties and responsibilities of the body, a statement said.
Participants of the consultative body stressed direct talks between the Afghan government and the Taliban, the statement from the Presidential Palace said.
It said the participant agreed that under the Constitution, the authority to lead peace negotiation rested with the government, not political parties.
