KABUL (Pajhwok): President Donald Trump says he removed defense secretary James Mattis because he did a not-so-good job in dealing with the longest war in US history.
"President (Barack) Obama fired him -- and essentially so did I. We want results," the president said in televised remarks after a cabinet meeting.
Mattis announced his resignation last month after Trump announced the pullout of all US troops from Syria and about half the American military personnel stationed in Afghanistan . . .
