KABUL (Pajhwok): President Ashraf Ghani has dismissed second deputy chief executive officer Mohammad Mohaqiq, the Presidential Palace said on Thursday.
Ghani fired Mohaqiq under Article 64 of Afghanistan’s constitution, according to a presidential decree, whose copy has been received by Pajhwok Afghan News.
Earlier, Mohaqiq registered as a candidate for vice-president. He chose to be part of former national security advisor (NSA) Mohammad Hanif Atmar’s team.
