KABUL (Pajhwok): Citing lack of financial resources, the state-run Ariana International Airlines (AIA) on Tuesday said it has purchased a 1998-made Boeing 737-500 aircraft and plans to buy two more.
The newly purchased aircraft, which is 20-year-old and used, has been inducted in the airline’s fleet and conducted its first flight from Kabul to Herat province today.
AIA chief Capt. Mohammad Nader Umar said the Boeing 737-500 plane was purchased from the LAM Mozambique Airlines against $20, 04,500 . . .
