Kidnap gang leader, 7 associates held in Kabul

KABUL (Pajhwok): A notorious kidnapping gang leader Obaidullah aka Raees Obaid has been arrested in Kabul City along with his seven associates, the spy-network said on Tuesday

A statement from the National Directorate of Security (NDS) said the eight-member gang was detained during a Special Unit raid in the limits of 10^th police district of Kabul.

The statement identified the other detainees as Zaid, Muzamil, Jawad, Niak Mohammad, Ahmad Fawad, Abobakar and Shamsulaq and accused them of taking money from traders and abducting people in Kabul city.

The NDS statement did not mention the exact time of the raid.
