PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): Seventy percent of trade between Pakistan is being carried out through Iranian ports due to Islamabad’s flawed policies, says a business leader.
Ziaul Haq Sarhadi, a Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) official, said on Wednesday most of the Afghan-Pakistan trade had been shifted to Bandar Abbas and Chabahar ports.
He also asked the Pakistan Railways to take measures for the supply of goods under the Afghan transit trade, as well as imports and exports between Peshawar and Karachi.
At a meeting here, the business community asked for making fully functional the Peshawar and Azakhel dry ports. SCCI President Faiz Mohammad Faizi also called for the transportation of good through railways.
