40 rockets seized, 3 suspects detained in Nangarhar

JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Border police have seized 40 rockets in Momand Dara district of eastern Nangarhar province, an official said on Wednesday.

The official said the rockets had been smuggled from Pakistan and three individuals had been arrested in connection with the seizure.

Brig. Gen Mohammad Ayub Hussain, 1^st brigade border police commander, told media representatives on Wednesday that their personnel seized 40 rocket shells in a pick-up vehicle and three individuals were also arrested.

The rockets were smuggled to Afghanistan for destructive activities, he said, claiming the forces had inflected heavy casualties on militants and frustrated their several attacks.
