KANDAHAR CITY (Pajhwok): US special envoy for Afghanistan peace Zalmay Khalilzad arrived in southern Kandahar province on Tuesday morning to discuss issues concerning the peace negotiations, an official said.
Aziz Ahmad Azizi, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News that Khalilzad reached the Kandahar airport early this morning.
Governor Hayatullah Hayat, provincial council members from Zabul and Kandahar, influential figures, tribal elders and civil society activists received the US peace envoy at the airport, Azizi added.
