<p>FARAH CITY (Pajhwok): A dozen national police personnel have defected to <a href="/en/taliban" class="glossify-link">Taliban</a> militants along with their weapons in western Farah province, residents and a public representative said Wednesday.</p>
<p>Dadullah Qani, a member of the Farah provincial council, told Pajhwok Afghan News 10 policemen of the Bagh-i-Pul check-point of Farah City, the provincial capital, joined the Taliban along with their weapons.</p>
<p>He said another two police of Dehak village check-post defected to the rebels this morning.</p>
<p>Omid, a resident, also confirmed to Pajhwok that 12 policemen had joined the Taliban ranks.</p>
<p>The development was also confirmed by Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid.</p>
<p>Elsewhere, a seven-member Taliban group has joined the peace process in western <a href="/en/afganistan/chagcharan/ghor" class="glossify-link">Ghor</a> province, an official said.</p>
<p>Abdul Hai Khatibi, the governor’s spokesman, the group led by <a href="/en/maulvi" class="glossify-link">Maulvi</a> Abdul Jabar, joined the peace process thanks to efforts by intelligence personnel. </p>
