AIBAK (Pajhwok): More than 2,000 high school graduates, 40 percent of them girls, appeared in the first round of the university entrance test in northern Samangan province on Thursday, an official said.

Prof. Abdul Qadeer Khamosh, head of the entry test authority, told Pajhwok Afghan News a delegation from the Ministry of Higher Education was present as 2,195 high school graduates appeared in the test.

He said the entrance test for higher education was conducted in a peaceful and secure environment. The process was absolutely transparent, the official claimed.

Meanwhile, a member of the delegation form MoHE said professional staff of the entry test committee interviewed applicants over the past two days.

Sonia Hakimi, one of the examinees, told Pajhwok that the entry test was good; there was no interference during the exams. The applicants were able to sit the test in a satisfactory manner, she added.

“I’m happy to reap the fruit of my hard work over the past three years. I made ample preparation for the university entry test,” she concluded.
