KABUL (Pajhwok): The Attorney General Office (AGO) on Tuesday said the murderers of Kabul News TV journalist Abdul Manan Arghand have been sentenced to death.
In a statement, the AGO said Arghand, a local reporter with Kabul New TV, had been assassinated a year back in southern Kandahar province.
After his killing, the AGO directed security organs to identify and arrest the killers and shared the case with the AGO after completing investigation, the statement added.
It said intelligence forces had arrested two individuals in connection with Abdul Manan Arghand’s assassination and sent their case to the Kandahar attorney office.
But family of Arghand and the Afghanistan Journalists Federation demanded the case be heard in Kabul. The AGO said the two co-accused have been sentenced to death by the court.
