GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): A detained man has confessed to killing three policemen including an officer in return for only 2,000 Pakistani rupees in southern Ghazni province, an official said Sunday.

Mohammad Arif Noori, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News that National Directorate of Security (NDS) personnel arrested the alleged killer of three policemen from Mahajir Township late Saturday night.

He identified the detainee as Mohammad Khalid, a resident of Chak district, who was living in the Mahajir Township in Ghazni city, the provincial capital.

Noori said Khalid killed police officer Shahpoor Bakhtiar in the township a week back. Khalid confessed to his crimes and acknowledged he had previously killed two other policemen in the past.

He told his interrogators he received 500 rupees each for the two previous murders from his Taliban commander who gave him 1000 rupees for killing the police officer.
