6pc increase in hajj expenses this year: Ministry

KABUL and Religious Affairs (MoHR) on Sunday said the cost of performing hajj would be $2750 per pilgrim in 2019.

Thousands of people would be sent to Saudi Arabia from Afghanistan for the performance of hajj this year.

A statement from MoHRA media’s office received by Pajhwok Afghan News said the hajj expenses for a single performer would be $2,750 compared to last year’s $2,600, showing a six percent increase.

The statement further said all hajj costs would be covered in the mentioned amount as last year only food cost of the pilgrims was covered.

The MoHRA informed intending pilgrims that the second process of the payment would be started tomorrow (Monday) in capital Kabul and provinces.
