PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): A large number of political; activists have rallied for the repatriation of Afghan refugees to their homeland from Pakistan’s Sindh province.
Workers of the Shikarpur chapter of the Qaumi Awami Tehreek [QAT] marched from Allah Walla Chowk to Lakhi Gate Clock Tower on Friday.
Din Muhammad Shaikh, Zahid Bhanbhro, Zafar Ali Channa Advocate, Asadullah Soomro and Abdul Wahab Kagzi led the protestors.
Speakers said the Sindh government, like the Punjab administration, should have taken a bold decision on the issue of sending home the Afghan migrants.
Most of the Afghanis are involved in criminal activities in the province, the speakers claimed, calling for the early expulsion of the refugees.
The Afghan refugees are a severe burden on the provincial economy according to QAT activists, who said they could no longer show hospitality to aliens.
