TIRINKOT (Pajhwok): In a first, the Public Health Department in central Uruzgan province has introduced ambulance service for emergency patients.

Ambulance Commander Qudratullah Rahimi announced that their department now offered free and 24-hour ambulance service with two fully equipped ambulances.

“The public can access this service by calling 102”.

Rahimi said a medical team will accompany the ambulance to provide first aid and transport patients to hospitals.

The service is designed to reach all areas and districts of the province.

Local residents, including Obaidullah from Balochi, in Tirinkot, welcomed the initiative. He talked about difficulties people faced in taking their patients to hospital and urged more such facilities.
