QALA-I-NAW (Pajhwok): Twenty-four commando forces have been killed and scores of others wounded during a clash with Taliban militants in Ab Kamari district of northern Badghis province, a public representative said on Tuesday.
Wali Shah Naibzadah, a senator from Badghis province, expressed his deep concern over the security situation of the province and told today’s session that 40 commandos arrived from Ghor province to Badghis on Monday night.
He said 24 of the commandos were killed and a number of others wounded in a Taliban attack.
He said only seven of commandos managed to escape the area and the rest were killed and wounded.
Abdul Khaliq, a resident of Midahqul area of the district, told Pajhwok Afghan News over the telephone that a clash occurred last night between security forces and Taliban militants in their area and both sides suffered causalities.
The Taliban also confirmed their attack on Ab Kamari district and claimed inflicting heavy causalities on security forces.
