KABUL may last for another three days, a knowledgeable Qatar-based said on Saturday.
Amid optimism about the signing of a peace deal, US and Taliban representatives resumed peace talks in the Qatari capital on Thursday night.
A well-placed source in Doha told Pajhwok Afghan News the fresh talks would last another three days before a deal was announced.
Wishing anonymity, the source claimed there had been headway over the two days in on technical points. He hoped all points would be finalised in the ongoing round.
A ceasefire, which has been part of the discussions, would be decided. The truce could be implemented in intra-Afghan talks, the source indicated, saying the Afghan government would not be kept out of the loop.
The source explained the deal would be implemented after an agreement was reached at intra-Afghan talks.
Taliban’s Qatar office spokesman Sohail Shaheen also said the issues that could not be resolved in the previous meetings would be discussed.
