<p>TIRINKOT (Pajhwok): Two positive polio cases have recently been registered in central Uruzgan province, an official said on Sunday.</p>
<p>Anti-polio vaccination head at the Public <a href="/en/health" class="glossify-link">Health</a> Department, Saifuddin Barak, told Pajhwok Afghan News the first case was detected in Meharabad area of Tirinkot, the provincial capital, in a two and a half years old child Ghaziullah,.</p>
<p>He said another case was registered in Surab area of Chora district in a six months old baby Rohullah.</p>
<p>Barak blamed the latest cases on <a href="/en/taliban" class="glossify-link">Taliban</a>’s ban on anti-polio vaccination in such areas.</p>
<p>Currently, 140,000 children under five years of age missed out in anti-polio vaccination campaign in the province, he said. “This is an alarm for all parents that kids’ paralysis is real and a serious threat”, he added.</p>
<p>With registration of these two new polio positive cases, the number of such cases increased to seven in the province.</p>
