SHARAN (Pajhwok): At least two people including a child were killed and 13 others, most of them civilians injured in Matakhan district of southern Paktika province, officials Monday.
Paktika deputy police chief, Capt. Massoud Babakrkhel told Pajhwok Afghan News that a motorcycle rigged with explosives went off in the center of Matakhan district on Sunday evening.
He said an Afghan Local Police (ALP) member and a child was killed and three ALP members and 10 civilians injured in the incident.
Ahmad Shah, father of the dead child said that they owned two shops in Matakhan district center.
“My son was in my shop when the explosion happened, I lost my 11-year-old son in the incident,” he said.
An eyewitness of the incident, Noor Mohammad said that 15 people suffered casualties in the incident.
No groups have so far claimed responsibility for the attack.
