KABUL (Pajhwok): Civilians and military personnel suffered casualties on both sides after Indian and Pakistani forces exchanged fire along the Line of Control (LoC) in Kashmir region.
Pakistani media reported that six civilians and a Pakistani soldier were killed as Indian troops resorted to “indiscriminate and ruthless” shelling from across the Line of Control (LoC)in its administrated Kashmir.
Officials said nine other civilians were injured — the highest death toll in 2019 in a single day of Indian shelling from across the dividing line.
Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) notified through a tweet that one soldier had been martyred in the exchange of fire while two others were injured.
But Indian army claimed destroying four terror launch pads in Pakistani administrated Kashmir, killing at least four Pakistani soldiers, in a counter-attack launched against the ceasefire violation that killed two soldiers and a civilian in Jammu and Kashmir, sources said.
Pakistani Army posts were also hit in the artillery gun attack launched by Indian Army that has resulted in more injuries on the enemy’s side.
An army source said the attacks on the terror launch pads were in retaliation to the support provided by Pakistan Army to push terrorists into Indian territory. Army has used artillery guns to target the terrorist camps.
