JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Dozens of militants have surrendered in eastern Nangarhar province, the governor’s office said on Sunday.
As many as 32 Islamic State (IS) and four Taliban fighters joined the government-initiated peace and reconciliation process on Saturday.
In a statement, the provincial government said the ex-rebels also handed over firearms to the National Directorate of Security (NDS) in Jalalabad.
The former fighters were active in Haska Mina, Sherzad, Achin and Khogyani districts of the border province.
