TIRINKOT (Pajhwok): Hundreds of acres of land in the Deh Rawood district of central Uruzgan province has been retaken from illegal occupants, an official claimed on Monday.
Abdul Manan Alizai, the district chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News that warlords and powerful gunmen had been evicted from 748 acres of land in the last three months.
Over the past few years, he claimed, thousands of acres of government land had been wrested back. Many houses had been built on the land grabbed in the district.
