JALALABAD (Pajhwok): The Attorney’s Office in eastern Nangarhar province says it investigated 1184 cases and the primary court has so far issued verdicts in 743 cases during the past one year.
Sharing his department’s performance report with media persons at the governor’s house here, Nangarhar attorney office head Mohammad Wali Hashmi said the cases they invested included murders, injuries, robberies, drug smuggling, fraud, counterfeiting, violations of children’s rights and violence against women.
He said there were 20 cases of financial and administrative corruption, 92 cases of violence against women and 99 cases of violence against children.
Hashmi said the primary court had decided 743 of the cases and had finalized 306 other cases and 673 cases were under judicial probe.
The attorney said their office submitted two million afghanis recovered from cases of financial crimes to the government during the period besides a large quantity of explosives, drugs and smuggled goods.
He said the judicial, justice and attorney offices maintained close coordination in Nangarhar and as a result many cases were accessed and resolved.
