SAR-I-PUL CITY (Pajhwok): More than 50 divorce cases were registered and addressed in northern Sar-i-Pul province this year, mostly driven by addiction and poor economic situation, officials said on Tuesday.

Ajmal Ansari, Sar-i-Pul primary court director, told Pajhwok Afghan News that Islam gave the right of divorce to both men and women based on four points.

He said woman could seek divorce from her spouse if he was cruel to her or denied her food and other basic rights.
