PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): Pakistan will continue to play a constructive role in the Afghan reconciliation process so that further conflict in the region can be avoided, its army chief has promised.
Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa, in a phone call with US Secretary of Defence Mark Esper, urged the Washington and Tehran to avoid rhetoric in favour of diplomatic engagement.
A statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) today said that the army chief and Esper discussed ongoing tensions in the Middle East.
