MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): Two children were killed and eight others wounded as a result of explosions in northern Balkh province on Tuesday.
Police spokesman Adel Shah Adel told Pajhwok Afghan News the blasts took place in limits of 9th municipality district of Mazar-i-Sharif, the provincial capital.
He said the blasts were triggered by explosives planted in the area. Two children were killed and eight civilians wounded. Adel said the target was yet to be ascertained.
But Abdul Qadeer, a resident of the area, said the explosions occurred in front of the Balkh district chief Gul Baz Khan’s residence.
