KABUL (Pajhwok): Meeting with some residents of Kabul citizens, President Ashraf Ghani on Wednesday said people should share all problems with him without any censorship.
President Ghani met with a number of residents of the 18th, 19th and police districts and Dehsabz district as part the “National Debate” program, a statement from the Presidential Palace said.
Tribal elder Haji Abdul Nasir and people’s representatives Mualvi Mohammad Nasir Tarakhel, Tahira Sama, Malak Khan Sayed, Mohammad Malang Attai and Qari Mir Gul thanked the president for conducting such a debate and urged him to continue it for solving people’s problems.
President Ghani thanked the public representatives for discussing people’s problems with him. He said he had told the authorities concerned that their performance had not been good and therefore he started meeting with Kabul residents.
After hearing reports from Dehsbaz district, President Ghani said ongoing situation in the mentioned district was no longer tolerable for him.
President Ghani said grabbers had no more place among people and serious action would be taken against them and illegal armed men should be illegalized or disarmed as people could not tolerate them.
The statement quoted President Ghani as saying that no one was above the law and when we Afghan forces could fight the country’s enemies, why should they stay silent against powerful individuals.
Ghani asked the authorities concerned to provide opportunities for investment in Dehsabz district and change it into a development area.
He said the Ministry of Education (MoE) should provide answer about discriminative behavior with Dehsabz district.
A day earlier, meeting with residents of fifth police district of Kabul city, President Ashraf Ghani said he will order operations against powerful individuals if needed.
The residents welcomed President Ghani decision to change the entire 5th police district security personnel.
