HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): Local officials said Hajj Zarghom district of western Herat province was killed in an armed attack on Sunday.
Governor’s spokesman, Jailani Farhad told Pajhwok Afghan News that Abdul Rahim Ahmadi, head of Hajj and Islamic Affairs of Pashtun Zarghon district was shot dead when he was heading to his office on Sunday morning.
The attackers managed to escape after the incident and the motive behind the attack is yet to be known, he said.
