<p>NILI (Pajhwok): Two <a href="/en/women" class="glossify-link">women</a> were dead and five others injured when an avalanche hit them in Miarmor district of central Daikundi province on Tuesday, officials said.</p>
<p>Arif Yasa, chief of Miramor district told Pajhwok Afghan News that the incident took place around 10am today morning in Warsil Rubat village of the district.</p>
<p>He said that two women were lost in the avalanche while five others in injured condition were rescued by rescue teams and local people.</p>
<p>The snow is falling heavily in Miramor district since Monday night and the people wanted to take refuge from one village to another due to heavy snow when hit by the avalanche, he said.</p>
<p>Miramor is one of Daikundi’s cold districts where many people are prone to be trapped or killed by snow avalanches annually.</p>
<p>More than 10 people were lost in Miramor district of the province in avalanches last year.</p>
