PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): The European Commission says it is releasing an additional €21 million in humanitarian aid for Afghan refugees in Iran and Pakistan.
Commissioner for Crisis Management Janez Lenarcic said: “The EU continues will stand by the people of Afghanistan, as well as those who have fled to neighbouring countries.”
He commended Pakistan and Iran for hosting millions of refugees, saying the funding would provide refugees and host communities with basic services, such as health and water supply.
The Slovenian diplomat added EU's emergency assistance would also help families affected by recent extreme weather conditions in Balochistan and Azad Kashmir, as well as floods in southern Iran.
