PUL-I-ALAM (Pajhwok): Two children have been killed and eight others wounded as a result of explosion in the Azra district of central Logar province, an official said on Tuesday.
Deedar Lawang, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident took place after an unexploded mortar shell went off in Shekhan area of the district late on Monday.
He said two children playing with the shell were killed and eight others wounded in the blast. The injured were evacuated to hospital and their condition is said to be stable.
Nasrat Rahimi, spokesman for the Ministry of Interior, confir/mudmed the incident but said one child was killed and eight others were wounded.
