On 18th of February, the Independent Election Commission (IEC) declared Ashraf Ghani the winner of presidential election with 50.64 percent of vote in final result.
The presidential election was held on September 28. Based on initial result, Ashraf Ghani secured 50.64 percent of the votes while Dr. Abdullah Abdullah secured over 39 percent of total votes.
