Wahid Malyar, spokesman for the MoFA, told a gathering here that of the 340 suspects, 22 individuals had tested positive for the virus so far in the country.
He added the suspected cases had been registered in 23 provinces of the country. Most of the infections have occurred in Herat and Kabul.
According to Malyar, about 1,000 beds are ready for coronavirus patients. The number of beds will be increased to 6,000 in case of need.
