MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): Two tanks have been torched during a firefight between the security forces and Taliban in northern Balkh province, police said on Friday.

Both sides suffered casualties during the overnight clash in Dawlatabad district, police spokesman Adil Shah Adil told Pajhwok Afghan News. However, he did not give specific casualty figures.

Earlier, the Taliban claimed capturing the district but the Balkh police headquarters rejected the claim as enemy propaganda.
