<p><a href="/en/afganistan/kabul" class="glossify-link">KABUL</a> (Pajhwok): Mohammad Shakir Kargar has been appointed as chief of staff to President Ashraf Ghani.<br />
In a statement, the Presidential Palace said Ghani had approved Kargar’s appointment under Article 64 of the constitution.<br />
Kargar was a known figure and had variegated experience in political affairs and governance issues. He has served as deputy minister of commerce as well as water and energy.<br />
He has also been Faryab’s representative in the <a href="/en/wolesi-jirga" class="glossify-link">Wolesi Jirga</a>, ambassador to Azerbaijan and special envoy of the oresident.<br />
