KABUL (Pajhwok): Mohammad Shakir Kargar has been appointed as chief of staff to President Ashraf Ghani.
In a statement, the Presidential Palace said Ghani had approved Kargar’s appointment under Article 64 of the constitution.
Kargar was a known figure and had variegated experience in political affairs and governance issues. He has served as deputy minister of commerce as well as water and energy.
He has also been Faryab’s representative in the Wolesi Jirga, ambassador to Azerbaijan and special envoy of the oresident.
