KABUL (Pajhwok): A member of the President Protective Services (PPS) has been killed in an armed attack in Kabul, an official said on Saturday.
Kabul police spokesman Faramarz Firdos told Pajhwok Afghan News an unidentified gunman killed Qayamudin Maqsoodi and wounded another guard.
The incident was being investigated by police, he said, adding the attack happened in Paghman district late on Friday night.
Tariq Arian, spokesperson for the Ministry of Interior, has also confirmed the killing of Maqsoodi and injuries to his colleague, who was not named.
No individual or group has so far claimed responsibility for the overnight shooting.
