US general, Taliban leaders talk cut in violence

US military Sonny Leggett confirmed to Radio Free Europe on Saturday that Gen. Austin Miller met "select Taliban leaders" in Doha

The meeting, which took place late on Friday, was part of the military channel established between the US and the Taliban in late February.

Spokesman for Taliban’s political office Suhail Shaheen said the militant movement had told the US military not to pound non-combats.
