KABUL (Pajhwok): Nearly 600 Afghan prisoners would be brought to Kabul from jails in Saudi Arabia, the Afghan envoy to the kingdom said on Monday.
Ahmad Javed Mujaddedi told Pajhwok Afghan News in an interview that the Saudi government had decided to deport 599 Afghan prisoners.
He said the process of shifting these prisoners had to start earlier but was delayed due to Covid-19 and quarantine measures.
Mujaddedi said the prisoners would be transferred by the Saudi government on three separate flights.
