On Friday, the Council of European Union (EU) adopted conclusions reaffirming the bloc’s political commitment to support the Afghans on their path towards peace and prosperity.
The EU said it would condition its future political and financial support to ensure the republican, democratic and values-based principles were protected and promoted.
In reaction, Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said they welcomed EU’s support for peace in Afghanistan but some points in its statement were against the independence of Afghanistan . . .
