The country’s death toll neared 50,000, Reuters reported. So far, 1,032,913 confirmed cases have been reported in the country, which saw 1,206 new deaths in last 24 hours.
With the latest fatalities, Brazil’s death toll has hit 48,954. It also set a new record as the daily number of cases, soared to 54,771.
