JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Police in eastern Nangarhar province on Wednesday handed over 515 light and heavy weapons to Disarmament of Illegal Armed Groups (DIAG) officials.
Governor Shah Mahmood Miakhel said police had confiscated the weapons in search operations over the last three months and handed over them to DIAG.
He said at least 153 suspects had been detained in connection with possessing the weapons. The detainees had been referred to justice organs, the governor added.
