Born on October 12, 1957 in the Qarabagh district of Kabul, Daudzai has served as Afghanistan’s ambassador to Pakistan and Iran.
In August 2013, he was appointed as minister of interior -- a position he left in December 2014. He is Afghanistan’s first special representative for Pakistan.
Daudzai’s main responsibility would be forging coordination with Pakistan on the peace process and improving relations between the neighbours, according to Daily Times.
