After emerging in the Wuhan city of China last December, the coronavirus pandemic has spread to at least 210 countries around the globe, causing millions of infections and deaths.

In the first months, mostly Chinese citizens were infected and killed by the disease, which has now been controlled by China. But it is spreading rapidly in Europe and America.

According to data from the Johns Hopkins University, over 22 million people have contracted the Covid-19 virus internationally.

So far 780,000 individuals have died from the novel coronavirus globally. Most of the fatalities have occurred in Europe and the United States.

Nearly 15 million people have recovered from the disease worldwide. The US has suffered the most casualties, with five million infections and 175,000 fatalities.

In Afghanistan also, the virus is spreading fast, with more than 37,000 people infected and 1,390 killed. More than 27,000 individuals have recovered from the disease so far.
