Kabul, Tashkent to sign 10-year power import pact

<p><a href="/en/afganistan/kabul" class="glossify-link">KABUL</a> (Pajhwok): Acting Foreign Minister Hanif Atmar will sign a 10-year electricity import agreement with Uzbekistan during his two-day official visit to the country, an official said on Thursday.</p>

<p>Geran Hewad, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said Atmar would be accompanied by a high level delegation and would reach Tashkent on Friday.</p>

<p>Commerce and industries minister, transport minister, Da <a href="/en/afghanistan" class="glossify-link">Afghanistan</a> Breshana Shirkat (DABS) head and president’s chief of staff would be accompanying the foreign minister on the trip.</p>

<p>The Afghan delegation would meet Uzbek officials and sign agreements on cultural ties, cooperation in customs affairs and particularly a 10 year electricity import agreement, he added.</p>
