KABUL Peace Ambassador Zalmay Khalilzad has traveled to Qatar to promote the start of intra-Afghan talks, US State Department said.
“Zalmay Khalilzad departed for Doha, Qatar on September 4. He will be traveling in the region to advance ongoing US efforts to promote the immediate start of intra-Afghan negotiations,” the statement said.
The Afghan people were ready for a sustainable reduction in violence and a political settlement that would end the war.
