JALALABAD (Pajhwok): A speedy police vehicle crushed one child to death and injured three others in Jalalabad, the capital of eastern Nangarhar province, on Tuesday, an official said.

Governor Spokesperson Attaullah Khogyani confirmed the accident that happened in the limits of the fourth police district at around 12:00pm.

According to initial information, the police vehicle from Shewa district hit four children in the fourth police district, killing one and injuring three others.

Hospital sources said they had been delivered two injured children and one body.

Sahibullah, a resident of the locality, said the police vehicle was moving in a high speed when it hit the children.

According to Khogyani, the accident was being investigated and if the police were proven guilty, they would be punished according to the law.
