KABUL to declare a permanent and immediate ceasefire.
The European Parliament and heads of the Committee on Foreign Affairs and the Delegation for Relations with Afghanistan welcomed the launch of the direct peace talks.
However, the European Parliament denounced the eruption of violence in recent weeks.
In a joint statement, they said: “We call upon all stakeholders in Afghanistan to put in place an immediate and permanent ceasefire.”
