KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Interior (MoI) says Afghan Local Police (ALP) forces are being dissolved and merged with other security organs.
The ALP forces were created about 10 years ago under the Ministry of Interior command in order local residents keep security of their areas themselves.
MoI spokesman Tariq Aryan told Pajhwok Afghan News on Thursday that the current strength of ALP forces was 20,000.
